New funding project “ZEFFAC”: E-turbo for the flying fuel cell

The funding decision for our joint project ZEFFAC (Zero Emission Flying Fuel Cell Air Charger) or “Fuel cell air-supply for emission-free aviation” has been delivered. Together with our partners, the Institute for Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery (IST) – RWTH AachenCME Control Motion Electronics GmbH and Access e.V. will we, G+L innotec, develop an e-turbo for the fuel cell based on our Media Gap Motor technology. The special feature: We will split the total power (and heat losses) of the unit between two drives and will route the entire mass flow through our e-motors. Media Gap Motor at work!

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection  as part of LUFO VI-3, supported and overseen by the DLR Project Management Agency.

We are looking forward to the collaboration and the challenges over the next three years (2025-2028).
